Position Description

Due to our expanding client base and growing project needs, RAE Engineering is looking for an
Engineering Manager. Based out of our Edmonton head office you are responsible for projects and people in the Engineering Services area of practice which encompasses the reliability, maintainability, integrity, fitness for service and the design review of pressure equipment and pipelines in support of clients. You will lead a team of engineers involved in total asset integrity management with a focus on pipelines, pressure vessels and tanks. You will work closely with the team leads and managers in other departments to assess technical requirements and prioritize engineering effort and schedule staff to support RAE Engineering’s business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a work force comprised and mechanical, material and chemical engineers to achieve engineering deliverables on time and within budget
  • Mentor and empower the team through effective leadership and management principles
  • Identify and implement initiatives for continuous quality improvement in safety, efficiency, quality, process and profitability
  • Maintain engineering standards across projects by identifying and implementing best practice, carrying out high level reviews and holding the teams accountable for quality
  • Provide technical engineering support to others within the company

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • University degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering
  • P.Eng accredited with APEGGA
  • 12+ years in project management in integrity related activities (oil and gas experience preferred)
  • Skills in project management and critical path scheduling
  • Excellent understanding of ASME and API codes and regulations
  • Proven management and leadership experience combined with a team-based, collaborative approach to problem solving and decision making (internally and externally)
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Budgetary control experience
